2nd One-day Conference on Service TV: T-Citizen

With the arrival of the DTT, at a time when new horizons are being defined for the television as a public service, the possibilities offered by citizen service information multiply. In this context, Activa Multimèdia Digital and the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation are organising the 2nd One-day Conference on Service TV: T-Citizen.

For the second consecutive year, this one-day conference offers the opportunity to reflect in greater depth on this particular communication space, and to share in projects, experiences and knowledge among administrations and televisions, with the aim of improving the service rendered to citizens and of getting to know the various technological resources that make it possible to face up to these challenges.

Information service is already a reality in many televisions that seek to give an added value to their programming, with access to news, information about the weather, the traffic or cultural events. The scope of T-Citizen extends and widens this intention, and opens up new options. On the one hand, the possibility of carrying out transactions with the administration. On the other, the chance of receiving information of all kinds aimed at all public services users, citizens and tax payers. In addition, television, as opposed to the Internet, reaches nearly the whole of the population, people of any age and from all extractions, something that strengthens the public service nature of this medium.

So not only the administrations, but televisions too have within their reach new ways of communication to interact with citizens and manage their daily relations.
