Now that the DTT is already a reality for many televisions, we find ourselves in a phase of certain maturity in which, beyond broadcasting in the digital format, we ought to take advantage of the true interactive potential of new technologies.
The arrival of storage and user identification devices on intelligent cards opens the door to the possibility that the viewer may design a customised programming, completely on demand and adapted to his or her own profile. It also makes it possible for the content in which he or she is interested to be sent to him or her. In short, it allows each viewer to configure his or her own television.
In order to exploit all this universe made available by technology, Activa Multimèdia Digital and the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation are organising the 3rd One-day Conference on Service TV. This year it focuses on personal television. On this day we will look into how to carry out the challenges of televisions and entities of communication when offering personalised content and services to an audience more and more integrated into the information society.
Activa Multimèdia, in addition to offering its experience on development of content and applications for the audiovisual world, brings into Barcelona state-of-the-art knowledge on TV personalisation initiatives, both for public services and as TV content on demand, as distributed through new platforms. From the hand of a number of experts, this One-day Conference seeks to become a new support point to help and guide all those involved in this new and exciting moment that may entail the end of conventional television as we have known it.
The one-day conference coincides with Activa Multimèdia’s 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the company organises the exhibition "Activa’t: entra a la tele i a la ràdio del futur" (Get Activated! Enter the Television and Radio of the Future) at Barcelona’s Palau Robert. The exhibition shows innovation experiences that take us to what the audiovisual media will be like in the coming years, such as interaction, high definition, the virtual worlds, the multichannel broadcast, or digitalisation. Those attending the conference will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition, which will remain open to the public from 30th May to 31th August.
